Wesley vs Tonbridge

Report written by Paddy Rath.

The boys arrived at Holmesdale CC to play Tonbride in great spirits. Saksham won the toss and elected to bat on what looked like an absolute road compared to what we had encountered so far on our journeys so far.

Dicko got us off to a fast start before departing LBW for 6. This brought Kieren to the crease who joined Fraser to put on a 106 run partnership (Kieren 44 and Fraser 75). We steadily lost wickets after that before Josh went ballistic blasting 33*.

The boys where pretty up and about early in the field with 2 early wickets, this brought Tonbridges captain to the crease who made 70* along with significant contributions from their number 5 and 6 bats.

They chased our runs with 10 overs to spare. Beery being the inventive man he is set them the task of chasing down 90 runs of 10 overs with their remaining batsmen. This simulation showed us that with 1 more wicket earlier we would have broken the game open as their lower middle to bottom order fell away quickly. All up a great day at the Holmesdale CC.
