Wesley played the other international team in the Silk trophy from South Africa, Grey High School. The lads were up and about in the warm up with the gold team winning a fierce game of Soccer Volleyball.

Wesley were sent into the field on a great batting track. A flurry of runs from Greys openers was quickly put to a holt with Mitch Wolters tearing through the top order to have 2 wickets after his first spell. After taking two early wickets Wesley gained momentum through the middle overs keeping the South Africans to 9-180 before a 60 run last wicket partnership saw Grey set 243 to win.

Wesley’s chase never gained momentum with 2 players making double figures and Wesley all out for just under 100. The effort of the boys could not be questioned but there are still many things to improve on. Batting time, running between the wickets and batting with intent.
